Art Confidence is what we bring to the art community and beyond.
At Art Pharmacy we give people ways to develop what we call “art confidence.” This is gained through exposure to artworks and to the artists themselves, by learning and talking about art. As people build this confidence, they become aware of what a work of art can do to transform and elevate spaces.
Art confidence is especially important for women in art. As we know, much of the public and private art sector is dominated by male-identifying artists. Often, women’s visibility and inclusion can be hindered by the patriarchal status quo, but at Art Pharmacy we strive to change this. We believe that by increasing women’s representation in the public realm, we can foster confidence in not only established female artists but in inspiring young creative women to continue on their journey. We believe through this commitment we are able to set a precedent and engender confidence and inclusion in the wider creative community, ultimately creating a better art world for all.
Our commitment to being inclusive also influences the way we work with artists. We are constantly exploring new trends and meeting with emerging artists so we can provide fresh ideas to our clients, and put forward different artists for each unique project. In this way, we encourage many artists, who have many different perspectives, working in a range of mediums, and have various levels of experience to develop their ‘art confidence.’
Through our work, we are always striving to facilitate more opportunities for artists, supporting them to experiment with a wide range of practices and show their work to potential clients. We, using the theme of International Women’s Day 2021 – #choosetochallenge female representation in the arts sector in our commitment as creative pioneers.
