What is Creative Mornings?
On Friday, 19th June 2026, Art Pharmacy’s founder, Emilya Colliver, was honoured to speak at Sydney’s Creative Mornings. The global lecture series, held here in Sydney at The Commons in Chippendale, is a monthly breakfast event fueled by a 30-minute talk, breakfast and coffee.
Creative Mornings’ June theme is “Curate.” Given Emilya’s background in the art world, it was a no-brainer that her lifelong passion for curation would come together into an inspired consideration of what the term means to her.
With over 100 people in the room on a Friday morning, the energy was palpable. What resonated most with attendees was Emilya’s ability to translate her relationship with art curation into approaches for shaping one’s life. Rather than confining curation to galleries and institutions, she expanded it into something far more personal, applying the term to three realms to articulate everyone’s capacity to sculpt their own existence.
Three Realms of Curation:
-
Curating your career
-
Curating space
-
Curating a community
Speaking of curating your community, it was a genuine moment when Emilya asked the room how many people had come from Flourish. The number of hands that were raised said everything. Founded in 2023, Flourish Networking brings together women who are passionate about growing, connecting, and supporting one another.
The number of Flourish attendees at Emilya’s Creative Mornings was undoubtedly a testament to the importance of cultivating your community. In real time, it demonstrated the importance of curating a support base that shows up for you. The women of Flourish certainly came through for Emilya and, through their presence, inspired other women to consider joining.
Feeling inspired to join Flourish and curate your community? Perhaps the Flourish Elevate and Restore series is a natural next step. There is a Long Lunch in Melbourne on Friday, 31st July.
A bit too far for you, New South Wales ladies? We’d love to see you at “Elevate and Restore: Morning Edition” at the Ace Hotel Sydney on Friday, 28th August.
Thank You
If you were able to make it, we here at Art Pharmacy were so glad to see you. We hope you left inspired to curate your next steps.
Finally, a big thank you to Nicole Velik, Creative Morning Sydney’s host and director of The Ideas Bodega. Your leadership and guidance are inspiring.
Missed the Event?
If you weren’t able to catch the lecture in-person, keep an eye out for a recording on the Creative Mornings Sydney website. Furthermore, we hope you’ll join us for the next “All About Art” panel talks, held on September 10th and November 12th.
