Emilya Colliver (Founder, Art Pharmacy), has released her second book, ‘The Art Project’, an essential guide to commissioning art for public spaces and creating corporate art collections.
Drawing on more than two decades of extensive experience in the art world, Sydney-based art curator, Emilya Colliver (Founder, Art Pharmacy) has written a comprehensive handbook for the public and private sectors.
The Art Project covers the complexities of commissioning art in the public realm, the development of placemaking ideas, commissioning artists for developments and how to design a successful public art strategy.
This extensive guide provides valuable insights into the relationships between artists and organisations, governments and the corporate world. In her accessible and informative style, Emilya seeks to assist in the process of implementing an art project from start to finish.
On Tuesday, 21 February, Emilya was joined by Barbara Moore (CEO, Biennale of Sydney) at The Ace Hotel for the official launch of The Art Project. They discussed what working in the public art space looks like from the very first steps to launching an art project, and the myriad of considerations and challenges faced along the way.
One week later, we launched The Art Project at Kirks Cellar, Melbourne with Elyse Goldfinch (ACCA). Elyse and Emilya discussed some of the practical strategies that readers will learn from The Art Project and also provided a glimpse into what Emilya has learned over the last 20 years as a cultural entrepreneur and art consultant.
The Art Project is now available for purchase on our website, Booktopia and at all good book stores.
