This is a reduction and hand coloured lino print of Enmore Theatre, Sydney's oldest continually operating live theatre. The Theatre plays a distinctive role in the social and cultural life of the city and occupies a unique position in Sydney's theatrical history. Originally built in 1908 and opened to the public as a photo-play theatre in 1912. It was run by a well-known theatre family at the time, the Szarka Brothers. Enmore Theatre continues to host concerts, comedians, plays and all forms of performance. A version of this image was shortlisted for the
Inner West Urban Edge Art Prize, funded by Inner West council in 2019.
