Art Pharmacy Consulting’s were contacted by new clients, New York luxury jewellery and specialty retailer, Tiffany & Co, to organise and commission artworks from two Art Pharmacy artists.
This was to be placed in their Sydney flagship store (one of their top 10 worldwide), and part of their push to included local art in their stores to maintain the culture relevance and ultimately support the local arts.
The overarching idea for this store’s art plan was Australian nature / Sydney cityscapes and Tiffany. They had heard of Art Pharmacy Consulting from our online presence and longtime status as advocate for Australian local artists.
The client wanted two artists specifically: Jared Fowler and Brendan Fitzpatrick. Art Pharmacy Consulting was to source existing artwork, as well as commission new works. Jared’s feathers were chosen as they tied in perfectly with the overall idea of Australian nature. Brendan’s x-rays allowed for the product to be shown in a cool way. All the works complimented the iconic ‘Tiffany blue’ palette.
Over six months, Art Pharmacy Consulting supervised the work of Jared and Brendan. To create his works, Brendan even flew to Thailand and created his distinctive x-ray works using Tiffany’s merchandise. The x-rays went through an experimentation phase, with lots of planning to work out what objects and composition would look best with the merchandise.
The finished result was beautiful artworks from local artists, which would fit in with the Tiffany & Co. Sydney collection.
