Deloitte’s art collection in Canberra will mark Art Pharmacy’s 6th major collaboration with Deloitte. This project saw the procurement and curation of 15 artworks across two floors in Deloitte’s new offices in the Brindabella Business Park, Canberra.
Working from Deloitte Digital’s narrative of ‘a rare sense of balance’, this collection characterised the region of Canberra as a vibrant and progressive balance of different identities and ideas. The procured work embodies core values of inclusivity, wellness and innovation. Consisting of artworks exclusively by artists born or working in Canberra, this collection highlights the diverse and unique talent found in the often-overlooked cultural hub that is Canberra today.
Deloitte sought to convey Canberra’s small town sensibilities as well as its national identity and focus on helping the general public through its public sector and university focus as a city. This was the brief for Art Pharmacy’s procurement strategy – to convey all the elements of Canberra that make it the colourful city it has become.
This collection focuses on themes of locality, Country and balance to tell the story of Deloitte Canberra’s new chapter. From Joel Arthur’s impressionistic painting of Glebe Park, to Alex Asch’s collage consisting of scrap metal found in Canberra tips, to master glassblower Jennifer Kemarre Martiniello’s installation paying homage to Canberra’s glasswork foundations and the Jerrabombera wetlands – this collection is an ode to the many facets of Canberra, brimming with innovation and creativity.
Deloitte’s new offices in Canberra are driven by values of humility, hybridity, inclusivity, potential and dynamism. It is envisioned to not only be a place of work and meeting, but also a social hub for Deloitte – to bring clients, people and community together in a collaborative, energised and purposeful destination, that acknowledges the land on which it sits and the locality in which it resides.
Through exploring the many elements that contribute to Canberra’s rare and unique sense of balance, this collection presents a bespoke and timeless display of what it means to be on Ngunnawal land.
