Art Pharmacy was engaged by Adrian William Real Estate to curate ‘Heartbeat’, an art collection that celebrates the organisation’s inner-west spirit and vibrancy, as they move into their new Sydney office. This project highlights the crucial role of art curation in enhancing corporate spaces and shaping brand identity.
In developing this collection, Art Pharmacy focused on crafting a narrative that reflected Adrian William’s dedication to creativity, authenticity, and inclusivity. The bespoke strategy resulted in a distinctive art collection that merges the company’s inner-west roots with a forward-looking vision. The collection features thirteen pieces across various mediums, scales, and materials, celebrating the diverse and dynamic local art scene.
Visitors entering the office are greeted by a thoughtfully curated selection of artworks. On the ground floor, pieces such as Carol Crawford’s ‘Yaffa Weiss,’ a hand-carved alabaster sculpture, and Stanislas Piechaczek’s vibrant abstract painting set a tone of innovation and engagement. Otis Hope Carey’s ‘Gaagal,’ a totemic representation of the Gumbaynggirr people’s connection to the ocean, imbues the space with a strong sense of Country
Strategic placement of art was central to enhancing the office environment. For example, the staircase area was transformed into an engaging artwork zone with unique pieces like Sam Gold’s black stoneware sculpture and Adam Gold’s mixed-media tree made from bronze, steel and concrete. These installations invite interaction and contemplation, enriching the experience for employees, clients, and visitors.
In response to the eclectic and uplifted interiors designed by Richard Stanisich, the collection incorporates a blend of traditional and contemporary art forms. This includes digital art, such as biophilic 3D pieces by Mia Forrest and Mikaela Stafford, alongside Tim Georgeson’s photographic work. The integration of these varied mediums complements the office’s design while reinforcing Adrian William’s commitment to innovation.
The ‘Heartbeat’ collection exemplifies how art curation can significantly impact corporate environments, enhancing brand identity, a genuine sense of connection to the local community and creating a memorable space that reflects and amplifies the values and vision of Adrian William Real Estate.
