In this significant project, Art Pharmacy were responsible for curating, sourcing and installing an extensive art collection for newly built offices in Melbourne. With a guiding curatorial narrative of “Place and Perspectives” the collection heavily focuses on local Victorian artists and makers who are pushing boundaries in their mediums.
The art collection at the iconic 80 Collins St building, includes works by six Australian artists, with a focus on artists local to the Melbourne area. The artworks cover a variety of mediums including paintings, sculpture, photography and digital artworks.
The art was chosen following the guiding narrative of Place and Perspectives and is focused on acknowledging Melbourne from different perspectives both in terms of who is telling the story, the view taken and the art forms and materials chosen. Focusing on creating a holistic narrative around the perspectives of Melbourne the art collection tells a story of the city. It is centered on giving staff and visitors an expression of Melbourne as a friendly city, an architecturally impressive city, a city of growth and opportunity and expresses the clients commitment as a key part of this expression.
Using our large creative network in Melbourne, we have brought together a collection of significant local Australian artists to make staff members, clients and visitors alike feel at home in this significant new development.
Our client should be applauded for their support of the valuable local creative community during this time through the collection. This is a collection that will enliven curiosity, innovation and benefits for their staff, partners and visitors to this fantastic space.
Art Pharmacy is a full service art strategy and culture agency. Our Art Consultants are here to plan, manage and deliver creative projects that culturally enrich spaces and tell interesting stories using high- quality Australian art.
